Inside the simulation

Workers choose between eating, resting, foraging, excavating, tending eggs, and moving twigs. A small weighted decision network combines sensory inputs with internal drives. Successful actions adjust individual preferences; offspring inherit mutated queen traits. Ants prioritize nearby food and use grid pathfinding to navigate. Eggs require time and food to hatch, and tending accelerates development. This is a simplified artificial-life model inspired by Creatures, not a recreation of its neural architecture.
